Core Values:- Build The Bridge Fellowship

Core Values

The core values bring clarity to the things that matter most at Build the Bridge Fellowship. They guide how we achieve our mission, influencing major leadership decisions as well as the everyday ministry plans. They even help us navigate staffing and budget issues. In short, they keep us focused on the unique call God has given us as a local church.

  • We believe in preaching salvation, deliverance, healing, and transforming people into Christ's likeness (Obadiah 17, 2 cor3:18)
  • We believe in preaching a well-balanced gospel that addresses spiritual and physical needs for the body of Christ (3 john1:2)
  • We believe anointed teaching is the catalyst for the transformation of lives and the church. That includes the concept of training and discipling for lives change (Romans 12:7; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; James 1:23–25)
  • We believe lost (religious and nonbelievers) people matter to God, and therefore, they matter to the church. We bridge them to God through evangelism as a process of spiritual growth (Luke 5:30–32; Luke 15; Matthew 18:14).
  • We believe the church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. That includes the concept of sensitively relating to our culture through our facility, printed materials, and use of the arts (1 Corinthians 9:19–23).
  • We believe Christ-followers should manifest authenticity and yearn for continuous growth. That includes the concepts of personal authenticity, character, and wholeness (Ephesians 4:25–26, 32; Hebrews 12:1; Philippians 1:6).
  • We believe a church should operate as a unified community of servants, with men and women stewarding their spiritual gifts. That includes the concepts of unity, servanthood, spiritual gifts, and ministry callings (1 Corinthians 12 and 14; Romans 12; Ephesians 4; Psalm 133:1).
  • We believe loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church life. That includes the concepts of love-driven ministry, ministry accomplished in teams, and relationship building (1 Corinthians 13; Nehemiah 3; Luke 10:1; John 13:34–35).
  • We believe life-change happens best in the community. That includes the concepts of discipleship, vulnerability, and accountability (Luke 6:12–13; Acts 2:44–47).
  • We believe excellence honors God and inspires people. That includes the concepts of evaluation, critical review, intensity, and excellencies (Colossians 3:17; Malachi 1:6–14; Proverbs 27:17).
  • We believe churches should be led by the Holy Spirit; through men and women who received God-given leadership gifts. That includes the concepts of empowerment, servant leadership, strategic focus, and intentionality (Nehemiah 1–2; Romans 12:8; Acts 6:2–5).
  • We believe in the pursuit of full devotion to Christ; His cause is ordinary for every believer. That includes the concepts of stewardship, servanthood, downward mobility, and the pursuit of kingdom goals (1 Kings 11:4; Philippians 2:1–11; 2)
  • We believe in loving anybody with the unconditional love of Christ (Rom 12:9)

BUILD THE BRIDGE FELLOWSHIP STATEMENT OF BELIEFS

WE BELIEVE:

The Bible -The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Words of God without error in the original writings, and they are the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

God - There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three manifestations: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Colossians 1:15-20; John 1:1, 14; John 15:26)

Jesus Christ – Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross to complete and final sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of God, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.

The Holy Spirit – The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.

Man – Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

Salvation - The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God.

The Return of Jesus Christ – The personal, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ is our hope and has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.

Future Events – There will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead and the transformation of the perishable body to the imperishable. The rapture of all believers to the everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord. The unbeliever to judgment, and the eternal conscious punishment.

The Church – The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the great commission.

Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the church of the firstborn, who are written in heaven (Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:22; Hebrews 12:23).

Baptism and Communion – Water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior; is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial service setting forth in a sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ; all true believers and only believers should share in it.
